Dravid, the epitome of sportsmanship!!!

Dravid, can u please open the innings?? Dravid, can u please keep wickets? We need to accommodate an extra batsman!! Dravid, can you please come down the order?? Every time the team needed him, this man, Dravid was there!! It's not easy for anybody to go and perform when the whole world is watching u and waiting for u to make a mistake to be shown the doors. But Dravid time and again has proved a point to people who doubt his ability. This match against the Srilankans on Nov 16, 2009 was no exception.

Just few weeks back he was dropped from the one day side with no particular reason being quoted except Mr. Srikanth telling the media that Yuvraj and Shewag are back to the squad (when asked why Dravid was dropped ? Doesn't it sound weird!! ) I was just taken back when someone of Dravid's caliber was treated as a stop gap arrangement for the so called "Youngistan" Indian team. But what did this gentleman do after that, did he shy away from doing what he is passionate about?? Did he go to the media for publicity?? Na, Na, all he did was played for his home team in the Ranji trophy. He got noteworthy scores which helped him get some practice before the Test match. Next was what the whole world watched!!

32/4 read the score board!! Top order dismantled by the SL bowlers!! But Dravid, the team man stood there. The strokes which he played were top class. Not an error except for the dismissal. The way he punished Murali, man, it was a treat to watch!!

Records were broken & Feats were achieved but still his quest for runs never stopped. The highlight of this particular innings was the way he hit those 177 runs. Being termed as a tortoise (which I being a fan will never accept) the aggressiveness which he displayed was so uncharacteristic of him. Being a Dravid fanatic for the past 13 yrs, I have never seen him play so aggressively all these years. Probably he wanted to prove a point (which is not required at all) to the selectors that he is no mood to take the crap which they have bin doing with him!! Whatever be the reason, there is every reason for all of us to celebrate this great dedicated sportsman India has ever provided.

"Kanden Kadalai - Parava(illai)"

For those who have seen Jab We Met(JWM),Kanden Kadalai will be a mockery.Bharath has tried to emulate Shahid Kapoor in all the scenes but obviously he failed.If he had been his self some kind new feeling would be added ,so that people would not relate him to Shahid.Its a frame by frame remake of Shahid Kapoor and kareena's portion that includes even the costume colour.
Santhanam has tried some gimmick with his usual nakkals but it did not supprot the script much.The backgroud score and songs was a total let down.To have a south indian touch the director placed a fight sequence which was a total crap.The voice rendered to tamannah was a bit of higher tone which might puzzle you but later you might forget about that.
Some interesting things in this movie ,i could not find anything of that sort.For those who have not seen JWM it is a good movie for the weekend,others its a mishap again .i rate this movie for 1 out 5.Sun pictures aggressive promotion in all the channels might create a good collection in the box office.If you have no other job for a week end its good time pass.

Today is a day , that i cherish for having reached a landmark of 100 viewers (approx) to my blog.I am indeed happy that i have created an interest of reading to quite a number of people. "Rain Is My First Enemy"

Rain is considered as a sign of joy and prosperity to most of the people but it turned out to be my dreadful enemy today.It was like chain of unfortunate events that created a hue and cry within me.I was buckled up ,about to leave my home then came a heavy downpour which did not allow me to step outside.After a thought i decided take leave, an hour later not even a drop could be traced outside.
Ah! this is where the jinx caught hold of me.I decided to make it to the college for the afternoon session,after a hour long journey i reached my univ campus to hear next shock."Finanace class cancelled and the next hour is at 5",that was the first blow later came next after 15 min 5 o clock class has also been cancelled today".The whole class shouted with an uproar and the one and only person to feel was myself.
I cursed myself for reversing my decision which was self taught lesson.I felt like a jester in circus becoming the epicentre of fun.(one best friend,warned me not to go despite regretting her words i felt it ).

India,One of the largest democratic country is at infamy by the act in Maharstra assembly tat was witnessed today.It is an unprecedented act of sabotage for the millions of people who elected them as their representatives to lead them.As the SP leader ,Mr.Azmi uttered his first word mai(I) the MNS leaders proceeded to the podium and broke the mic ,supported by MNS party MLAs.
Mr.Azmi received a blow over his face ,which is act to be condemned.The reasons for the attack was an utter imprudent thinking which lacked cohesion or sense of responsibility.All these were done by the sole support of Raj Thackerey,of what he thinks of himself to be another undisputed king of Maharstra.There are lot things that has to be looked upon , improved ,uplifted and corrected but vehemently opposing for speaking Hindi is a true sense of stupidity.People of maharastra have already taught a lesson in the recent election but their presence is synonym of a single rotten tomato in a basket full.

"The Alchemist"

After a long time i read a novel given by my friend,"The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho though the novel seemes to be small one unlike other novels with 500 to 600 pages.It had just 172 pages and the prologue created a sense of penchant to proceed further.
The entire plot is about a shepherd boy named Santiago and his serach towards destiny.He always believed in wat his heart desires.He had a recurrent dream ,”Where a child playing with his sheep and took him by his hands to Egyptian pyramids “ and the child said to the boy “if u come here u can find ur treasure ,when child was about to show the location the boy woke up.”He was determined to know wat the dream was about.
He began his journey towards Egyptian pyramids.On his way he came across various characters like gypsy woman, Melchizedek the king of salem,crystal merchant ,the englishman,alchemist ,fatima and tribes.All the characters offered some their hand to realise his dream,it is considerde as Beginner's luck .Even the wind ,sands of desert and his heart spoke him the path when he was mystified.
The boys character was so well intertwined with all other characters which makes you feel that you are still not yet boarded the train of adventure(to be optimistic rather than saying having missed the train).He emuales all the emotions like anger, frustration,suffering,longing,determination,irritation,anxiety ,so you feel like travelling along with the boy and consider his destiny to be yours.
Epilogue is truely a surprise element which no one can regret to mention(better read it for urself). For ardent readers dont miss it.

"Sachin Sachin Sachin"

I could not think of a better topic than just writing sachin three times. November 5,a day in the making of history.A one man show which stunned the entire cricketing nations , an innings which said "F*** you" to all the critics against him.A person who created 5 world records in a single day ,he is none other than Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar.

sachin's scored 175 and the rest of the players could manage only 160 runs and 12 extras. what a wonderful team it was , which was considered to be the prospect for te 2011 world cup .By hearing this i could remember a famous adage in tamil"oru thanuku endirikave mudiyalaiya.....".

What else you can expect from sachin better than this , he lifted the innings all alone with no support on the other side .Shewag must be sensible in his batting ,trying to smash all the balls like an amateur.Oh god , Tail enders is this the first time they play batting in their life .Nehra and munaf please learn your basics atleast to make contact with the ball.

When sachin took the catch in square leg and threw the ball in anger and disappointment , that showed that he is upto some thwarting innings.This match rechristened likeness in sharjah with the same aussies.As india lost there was hot discussion in orkut communities against srikkanth and his stupid selection of playeres.

With this team world cup is distant dream . I would like to quote some of the reactions in orkut against india team.
