After a very long time , a movie that inspired my thoughts to start my blogging . The Social Network based on the life story of Mark Zuckerberg the Co-founder of facebook. It means there was another guy "Savarin" was part of facebook,.
It was the day that filled my heart and soul with sanctity. Everything fell into place at the right time, to make a perfect visit to Tirupati. We (Me and 2 of my class mates) started our journey to Tirumala at 6.30 AM from Chennai. The four hours of bus journey went on in no time with lots of laughs and gags. In the middle there was pit stop at a motel, where we had our breakfast. The bus reached Tirupati exactly at 11.00 AM. Only two of us decided to ascend the hill by foot, the other friend went to the top by bus.
As we raced through the steps it went on well till 300 nonstop with lot of enthusiasm and pace. We made our first halt at that point, followed by the next halt at 700 th step. This is where we started feeling the pain in our legs and dryness in mouth. We covered 700 in just 30 minutes, by that time we have emptied our first water bottle. Next pit stop at 900, the count on the number of steps reduced owing to the steepness of the hills.
An hour later we covered just 1200 steps, 200 short of the initial start time and we had very long break of 10 min. During our ascend, I happened to notice various kind people each with their own rituals and practice of ascend. Some walking on their knees, some placing camphor on each steps and lighting them and some placing Sandanam and Kum Kum in each step. Walking straight is a humongous thing and bending yourself in each step; I can’t imagine the pain they bear and toughness of their mind.
As a sign of hope , I saw a sign board reading 600 steps more for darshan token but it short lived my friend said “ It’s just the counter and not the top we are just half way through now”. After we received our tokens for the darshan a small halt. From there it was more like a walk which came as survivor to us, with larger steps for another 5 Km. Then came the final 300, where we were almost drained and drenched in sweat .By that time we have emptied 3 water bottles and 2 Sprite bottles. The time was 1.40 PM and it took almost half an hour for us to cover the final league.
The time was 2.15 PM at the top; the devotees were ushered to the q complex especially for the people who came by walk. We made a long halt at the complex for about 90 minutes, when the door was opened there was a huge rush pushing and crushing and shouting and chanting to lead the queue. Finally, to reach the main temple it was 5.30 PM and we had the glimpse of Lord Venkateswara Just for a few seconds .All this ordeal only for this few moments that keeps the hopes of billions to visit again. Such a hardship almost seemed nothing, after the darshan of Lord Venkateswara.
Finally, the next best thing of Tirupati is of course Laddoo’s who can miss this, after receiving it, we reached our room at Ahobila Mutt around 7.30 PM. Two unexpected things happened there , one was our friend who went up directly by bus did not have his darshan and returned home empty handed and other was we could not record any of those moments in cam. Both of these events, made us to plan for another to visit Tirupati asap or atleast before completing our course.

Last 2 of my friends were along with me, when we trespassed the railway line at Park Station. But This time I was alone, I boarded the train to central around 10.30 after a long wait at Ambattur .This made me reckless as it was getting late for my internship. The travel time is less but the transit is almost equal to my travelling time. After a small stride from central, I reached park station to board the train to Mambalam.
The moment where the fate played a trick on me, I noticed the train approaching the platform .The only way to catch is to bypass the foot over bridge and cross the tracks. Though I was in the same situation 2 years back, but I could not resist myself from making the same mistake. Within seconds of such an act I was surrounded by 2 people asking for my ticket. I realized that I was caught again for the same reason.
I was made to stand along with group who were caught for the same reason. There was hue and cry initially, people trying to highlight the reasons for their act .The RPF was adamant in leaving anyone, I enjoyed the scene very much. I made a call to my friend who accompanied me when I was caught for the first time. We shared those thoughts and great memory exchanges with him. As time passed, RPF directed us to Railway Police Station.
Everything was bearable except the advice given by railway police, which continued for 10 minutes. Oh my god those 10 minutes seemed like listening to lecture for more than an hour or so. Around 2 hours later, they asked for the fine and address. Initial fine amount was 500 as per IPC, later they registered me under Footboard. Since I am a student a concession was given by the Police, asked me to pay Rs.100 in front of the magistrate in Egmore Station.
"Never Encourage a conversation to the Unknown"
The final twist and hilarious thing that happened when I was waiting outside the court for my turn to pay the fine. A lean man came near and engaged himself in a conversation with me, he showered a long list of questions enquiring about this gathering in front of the court. After answering his questions , he revealed that he is from press .He gave me a compliment thanks for explaining me the details very clearly to me. He wanted to highlight this issue but I made a bargain with him , I gave you the details so don’t cover me in your shoot. Before he could turn up , I was produced in front of the magistrate along four other guys.Magistrate asked,” will you repeat this”, we all nodded our head affirming her that we won’t repeat this. She asked us to pay Rs.100 each and leave the place. First time in my life, had chance to visit the court. That was quite an unforgettable moment that remains etched in my heart. I lost the pride of saying , I never visited police station or court .Before the news reporter could come for the coverage I left the place since I don’t like publicity stunt .

Our department first industrial visit to HMIL turned out to be a memorable one. It was arranged as a part of extending their goodwill towards DOMS students when we welcomed some of the Korean students who are working as interns in HMI.
As we entered the company, we were ushered to the conference room where a small footage on the Hyundai Motors was presented to us. Hyundai Motors ,a Korean based company, second largestpassenger car manufacturer in India, has production plants at 7 countries .Globally it stands as fifth largest car manufacturers .The plant is located at Irungattukottai at a sprawling campus of 535 acres.
The plant has the state of the art facility with the production capacity of 57 cars per hour. In Chennai they manufacture 6 variants Santro, accent, sonata, i10, i20 and Xing. Chennai is considered to be the main production hub in Asia and also largest manufacturers among other Hyundai plants in rest of Asia. We could witness the entire production line up and the manufacturing process that is involved. The involvement of human resource is totally limited, only supervision is done by humans. After visiting the entire assembly unit, we were taken to the nearest farm house in HMI.
In the farm house we met the same Korean intern students who were waiting for us to welcome us. Had a small refreshment there and later gathered into small groups with One Korean student to each group. It was an opportunity to learn about their culture, way of life, language etc.
After a great session of fun, bid adieu to HMI and Korean friends. When we reached the gates of Hyundai I had a doubt in my mind whether we went for an industrial visit or a small fun trip.
Whatever! it was a day spent with a purpose
3 Cheers to DOMS!!!!!!!
